Should I get a 2007... or wait for the '08?
They will usually knock 5k off the price once they get the end of the 07 model year. Since the car is basically the same, I would buy the 07 and save some extra cash.
You can't really say resale value is better, because it all depends on when you sell it. If you buy an 07 and John buys an 08, you both keep your cars for 7 years, and then sell them... you will most likely see the same residual value.

With the kind of sales numbers they are having right now, I think you are going to be hard pressed to get 5K off unless you wait until about Dec and they are just trying to get the last few cars off the lot.

I'm about to pull the trigger on a new x, but if they're going to offer some sort of iPod integration, I'll wait for an '08.

There is no official public announcements either way that I have seen.
I am eagerly awaiting the G37, but if it disappoints me I will take a look at the '08 G35.
The one glaring problem with the '07 G35 for me was the wacky-arsed manual tranny. It hesitate a bit at low revs. Almost felt like turbo lag. A few weeks later I read others had the same experience. Has this been address with the '07 yet or is it just part of the car?
Also iPod integration is critical for me seeing as I will be coming from using an empeg/RioCar and Infiniti pretty much gave use zero option of using an aftermarket stereo. I'd really prefer more than an iPod connector as I really hate iPods but they are a lot better than using CDs of compact Flash.
The imaging feature is funny as it is something that has been available on my empeg for the past 5 years or so...and it is adjustable..!

If I were to do it again, I probably would have waited for the 08, and I've had my car for 2 months. It's generally a bad idea to buy a first year car and this car is a good example. Yes it's a very well built car but many of us have had little issues pop up that I'm sure will be taken car of in the 08 model. There are fixes for alot of these but many I don't think are ideal solutions until they can be designed correctly into the manufacturing process (heated seat problem for example).
Resale is the other factor depending on how long you keep your car. Right off the bat the resale will be several thousand more than the previous year, and this will remain for many years, at least until the car starts approaching its useful life. I think you'll have to get an 07 for a pretty good price to offset this.
Just my opinion of course.

Geez... if somebody asks a question and you don't know the answer then don't make one up.
Infiniti has not officially said one way or the other if the 2008 sedan will have a 3.5 or 3.7 engine. I, personally, would like to hope that they put the 3.7 in the sedan since it would increase performance, increase MPG and increase value of the vehicle and especially compared to the 335i which they need to compete against. This may persuade me to get one. I would NOT get a G35 sedan for 2008. Actually, I wouldn't get a G35 sedan period... knowing that the 3.7L is out there lurking about... and I bet many feel the same way. And probably many do not.
Really, all we need to do is find out who they subcontracted out the manufacturing for those little chrome G37 trunk badges, and see if Infiniti increased their order for this year about 500%.

No point really, just something to take into consideration once you start getting this close to a new model year release. If your willing to wait another 16 months for an 09 on THIS car then obviously you have other issues going on.
and this logic no longer applies.
