Well I felt like an idiot today V. Intelligent Key

Well I totally felt like an idiot today and it took me awhile to figure it out but I finally did. I was making a road trip to see a few friends today and i put all my bags in the trunk. Well everytime i tried closing the trunk, it would automatically pop back open. I mustve closed the trunk like 20 times and it just kept popping back open. I had no idea what was going on so im turning the car on and then trying to close the trunk and im still getting the same problem. I tried calling my salesman about the issue but I couldnt get a hold of him so i just sat there and thought about it for a second.

Well it turned out the reason why it kept popping back open was that i left a set of extra keys in my bag. Apparently, the infiniti comes with a feature that makes it impossbile for you to lock your keys in the trunk. If you leave the keys in the trunk, the trunk will automatically pop open. But, i figured it out and its just one of those first time moments i guess, kinda like finding the gas tank release your first time at the pump in the G..lol. Im sure no one else has run into this problem but a heads to everyone. DONT LEAVE ANY SETS OF KEYS IN THE TRUNK!

I actually left my keys in the trunk of my car once.

I was doing some spot detailing and I accidently left the key in the trunk and closed it. I found out when I needed the keys to get to the other car for detailing materials. When I found out I had left my keys in one of the trunks (I knew it was in the other car becaues I knew the G35 has the feature the OP was describing)... Even though I had another key but I was starting to freak out when I found out the key was not in the old car's trunk.

Surprisingly, I had left my keys in the trunk of the g35 and closed it. The funny thing is that I couldn't open the trunk from the outside. I only had my passenger side door unlocked so maybe that was the problem. Weird because the trunk should be able to sense the key inside the trunk and let me open the car...

Hahaha, that sounds exactly like something I would do.

IIRC some other people have said that the G does have a couple of "dead spots" where you can put the key and it WILL let you lock it. Try not to count on it not letting you.

LOL - I did that. Put my wife's suitcase in the trunk, closed it - click, trunk opens, frantic beeping. WTF? Close the trunk again - click, beeping. Two more times and I realized the car was doing it on purpose, and her keys were in her suitcase

If you open the G with I-Key A, it'll let you lock the doors with I-Key B in the passenger compartment or trunk.
