you probably grounded out a power wire while you were connecting it to the basslink. did you disconnect the battery cable while doing the installation? likely not...

good news.

I'd only go to the dealer for something like this if they were next door... it's the fuse for sure, and unless it blew just because -- or keeps blowing -- I wouldn't bother.

I got to the Infiniti Dealer this afternoon to check progress and the tech had the laptop hooked up to the jack and was doing diagnostics and reprogramming. The whole time hes like "dude i dont know, this looks weird, now the CAR WONT EVEN START!!!" and im like well check the dam fuse man im pretty sure maybe one is burnt out (this is after i spoke to my electrician) so he turned off the laptop and checked the fuses and of course the audio one is burnt. So he changed the fuse the system turns on full control.

Very strange..I took out my CF card and everything is normal! How can it be that my CF card is messing up the system? Whenever I put it back in I get that error message about HDD sys. crash + contact dealer asap, but without the CF card everything is a-ok. Weird...?

Oh WTF... that's nice...

What's in the card? Maybe some bootable thing? That would rock if you could get the software onboard to boot from CF, then it's just a matter of time before somebody comes up with some interesting hacks.

I had my LCD screen, radio and HVAC fail to boot on one start about 2 months ago but it hasn't happened since. Random but disconcerting...

Man the system has been working like charm ever since I took out the card. Weird. Nothing but songs on it. I'm still going to bring it into the dealer, let's see what they say. I called them up when the system first crashed and they told me to clean the ICC laser screen upfront and that should help cure my problem...LOL...I just wanna see what they'll tell me in person .

Similar thing happened to me this morning. I got my car less than a week ago (brand new 08) and never did anything to it (stereo) nor have I even used a flash card. I park in a garage so it doesn't get too cold. I turned the car on, pressed ok but nav didn't respond. Then I put my car in reverse and the back up camera didn't come on. Heat and radio was on but I couldn't change anything including temperature and volume.

Turned car off then back on, now nothing on the screen

I drove for a little while, turned the car off again then back on. Now everything is normal. I hope this never happens again. I think I heard the hard drive clicking when Nav was booting up. Not good...
