I don't think so, but just wanted to verify. Is this lining actually needed to prevent leaking from heavy rain? I just had this problem happen to me yesterday, but haven't had time to closely analyze it yet. If it's not a big deal, I'll just wait until my next maintenance service to have it taken care of. Otherwise, I'll need to look into just fixing it myself or schedule an appointment (although the dealer is about 50 miles away, so if it's not a big deal, I'll just wait).

I washed my car without the lining just fine. I think it only serves 2 purposes:

1) Keep rain out when you're driving with the moonroof open.
2) Keep wind out when you're driving with the moonroof open.

I had my driver side pop out on me today. I'll probably go with using some double sided tape. It must have been slowly working itself out since it felt like it was being retained fairly tautly after I pushed it back in.

this is exactly why I don't do roofs. well, there's weight, complexity, expense, and structural rigidity as well. but mainly this... good luck to you all.

I saw this topic and didn't read it until mine fell out day before yesterday. About 4500 miles. I'll have it fixed with the Voice Recognition TSB as soon as the dealer gets the new disk. It is nice to see that others have the same issue and know there is a TSB before talking to the dealer.

my moonroof LINING was falling out before my first service, and the dealer took care of that. yesterday though a plastic rectangular piece, about 6x8 inches fell out of the moonroof when i was closing it right on my head..

now I didnt see it fall out, I just felt something fall on my neck and needless to say..I got scared ****less, jumped out of the car thinking some sort of giant spider had jumped in through the moonroof...

wasnt fun..

YES! Just happened to me last week. Not a big deal, but annoying. I figure I'd take in it to get it fixed next time I was due for an oil change.
