Must do maintenance at X miles OR Y months?

Service intervals are described in the miles or months "whichever comes first" it says, well, I unlike some, I haven't been adding a lot miles (~1600) on my car but it's close to my 1st 3 month interval.

Are the folks who don't pile on the miles as quickly bringing it in during the month intervals?

I'm just concerned of any issues that might come up later if a dealer/Infiniti says I didn't follow the scheduled maintenance exactly as described and might be held against me for whatever reason.

Thoughts/comments?

I was told to follow the months because I dont do the miles either. I dont think it will void the warranty because they give you the option for miles/months.

My friend was following the miles and the dealer said, do the months instead.

The wording is pretty clear I think .... x months or y miles -- WHICHEVER COMES FIRST

You can determine if you need to use the severe schedule or the other one (7500 mile interval) depending on how you use the car.

that's why service centers log your mileage and the date when you get services. i wouldn't worry about the detail. just follow what the schedule recommends and you are ok

As I expected, if it says it in the book, I might as well follow it to cover myself. I'll be going for my month interval service. Thanks all.

FWIW, I've been doing the service based on miles. On my pickup, I may go 6 months between oil changes before I do it after 2000-3000 miles.

On my car, I average just over 10000 miles/year, and they haven't said anything about doing it by miles.
