Stopped by a cop

So I'm parked in the subway parking lot, just touching up the car for about 10 minutes with some quick detailer before I head home. A cop pulls up, rolls down his window, and asks '"Sir, what's that you have in your hand'?.

I'm thinking ...give me a break - what - I can't wipe down my car in a parking lot?...And what do you "think" I have in my hand? .... Didnt know if I should be sarcastic...or if I should joke with the guy and ask how fast was I going...or just answer his question..so I figure play it safe and I simply showed him the bottle I was using.

He says, "Oh MeGuiars - no wonder your car is so shiny - we spotted it from a ways back - gotta tell you that's one beautiful car. Have a good day". I thanked him very much and he pulled off!

I'm still shaking my head. Since when does a cop stop to compliment someone on how nice their car is! Is this a great car or what !! ! Loving every minute of it (fob issues aside though lucky so far!).

I am a cop and i used to get pulled over by cops all the time so they can compliment my Chopper when i had that and my Z06 when i had that...it actually started to get annoying when i just wanted to be out there cruising...I'm happy it happened to someone else...way to keep the car nice and shiny!

Hah -- great story!

Got another one:

Got my car and was washing it about 2 days later at a solar car wash (one of those pressure washers)... and while I was drying it off the guy next to me was like, "Man, that sure is a fast car, I'm in the California Highway Patrol and 90% of the time they get away from us."

Thanks for letting me know!

That's a funny story

Thank God that the cop didn't mistake the bottle for a gun and shoot at you or whatever

Man that's hilarious! It's hard to believe the a cop would be dumb enough to give us that very valuable piece of information.
But i think he was kidding cuz most cop cars have a V8. I know some CHP Camaros are supercharged.

The Camaro's we couldn't outrun... they can do upwards of 150...

However... the Crown Vics the police drive max out at around 120 (or less) and accelerate like a boat.

Yeah, they have a V8... but it's a Ford.

The Cops in Virginia are spotting you in other ways...

Beginning Sunday July 1, Virginia drivers will face years of steep fees for driving violations, in addition to fines imposed by a judge. For example:

Driving on a suspended or revoked license -- $250 a year for three years.

Reckless or aggressive driving -- $350 annually for three years.

Drunken driving -- $750 a year for three years.
For a list of vehicle offenses punishable with fees, visit www.courts.state.va.us/publications/hb_3202.pdf

Only applys for VA residents go figure.

Nice, I'm on my way then.

I'm planning on getting my license revoked first, then driving without signalling, cutting people off, while drunk!
