Has anyone named "the voice"?

I took my 9 year old daughter for a ride and turned on the Nav system. Her question about Nav was "who is that speaking?" I told her I didn't know, and she asked "does she have a name?" I said "not yet" and she said, "well, we ought to name her..."

Which seems like an excellent idea, really.

So, has anyone else out there named the Nav girl? If so, what did you name her?

I'm considering "Geena", since she is the voice of a "G", of course.

Also, can the voice be switched to male for female drivers?

I've heard that "Voice!"

Friends of our have a Acura and after an evening out with them I asked our
friend if he was concerned about having a 12 year old in the car especially
when he's alone with her? That's how she sounded........it's almost funny.

LOL, in my '04 Coupe the French female voice is "Sophie" - a friend named her when the NAV started to speak. No name for the English one...and I think the voice it has changed in the '07 NAV, too.

The old one (pre-2007 sedan and pre-G37) is female only.

I know that my brother named his G35 coupe Victoria. A pretty good name... my cousin (a girl) helped pick it out.

Actually I was not asking about naming the car itself, but the female voice who issues Nav commands and runs voice command.

I haven't gotten around to naming the car yet.

Mine's named Olivia. Olivia used to be the female rapper in G-Unit. Since I'm drivin a G, it only made sense.

My wife named her Sexy Sadie b/c we were listening to the song the first time the nav came on. It's pretty fitting until she tries to pronounce a long street name and goes robotic - "In about a quarter of a mile, turn onto BRI-er-For-REST-Ridge-PARK-way." I keep waiting for her to tell me resistance is futile while she steers me into a lake.

Mines is named Sydney. Something my girlfriend and I agreed on when taking the car on a roadtrip. Roadtrips give you plenty of time to think of stupid ****.

Yeah, it's one of those things where your girlfriend says "let's name her" and you just go along with it just for the sake of going along with it. I got used to it though. Sydney and I are very happy together!

She has a real hard time understanding "Detroit" and when she says it she pronounces it very strangely almost in a different voice and stretches it out - try it and see.
