My other car/Toy Sequoia has e-break at the same location so I am used to them now. The only problem is I forget to release the e-break and sometimes I drive my Sequoia for miles without knowing that the e-break is still on. At least the G reminds you that the e-break is on, but the Sequoia does not.

First everyone with a 6MT complained that they don't get cup holders and their center storage area is too small, now the 5AT owners are going to complain about the e-brake? This thread is retarded.

I rather see an electronic e-brake button but I like that I have a little space in the center console.

When I first got my G35S I had come from a Chrysler 300C, so for a few days instead of releasing the e-brake I was releasing the hood...

i dislike it also, i think its something that should only be on SUV's and larger vehicles, definitely NOT in a coupe.

I don't really mind the ebrake pedal, but wish that it released automatically when the tranny is put in gear (like my 99 GM product). With all the technology in this car it seems a bit odd that you have to manually release it. As a consequence I don't use it much.

the G is a sports car?

anyway... my answer: don't care. it's not a rally car so i don't use the E-brake to lock up the rears while driving. it definitely does clean up the console.

I don't care for it too much. All my previous cars (both manuals and automatics) had an arm brake.

A handbrake makes sense for a vehicle equipped with manual transmission, but it has no purpose in a car with AT. I'm happy that it is out of the way of the center console. All the vehicles I've driven for the past 10 years have pedal e-brakes, so I'm used to it.

If you were more of an enthusiast you'd have gotten the MT
which does have a hand brake. To say a auto G sedan is a sports
car is a bit of a stretch. I like how it cleans up the center console as well
although I must admit, I do profer a hand pull brake. But for what the car is
the step brake should not offend anyone. Now had they put the step brake
in a 6MT coupe. . .. then I'd be foaming at the mouth! just my 2-cents

ohh and the whole drifter hand brake thing, I've never done any drifiting
but it doesnt seem that a hand brake would help you drift as much in an auto as a MT, anyone know?
