Red face Old owner thinking about new one

Folks,

Flood water killed my G. I cried.

Anyways Im thinking about getting a 2007 Sedan.

I dont want a coupe cause I hated the driver seat in the 04.5 sedan and it looks on the surface to be the same on the 07 coupe...

Anyways looking at $500 over invoice right now.

Any thoughts? Anyone go from an older G35 sedan to the new one?

Get the 2007 sedan. You might regret it if you don't. But umm... what other cars are you even considering?

I love my Sedan more than my coupe. Only thing I like better on my 03 Coupe is the 6MT over the 5AT the Sedan has. Can't have 2 6MT's considering my wife doesn't drive a manual. Get the 07 Sedan, you won't regret it!

I personally really like the IS350 but if you're set on the 2007 G35 sedan, then I believe it's best to get it now. Even though there are no APR offers on the car, you can at least get a pretty good deal because they're trying to get all the 07 sedans out.

She prefers to drive the auto. Its not a big deal. Plus, teaching someone to drive stick on a G35, not sure if thats a good idea considering the price of the clutch replacement etc.

my interest in manual is greatly diminished by my 65 mile all city commute in Houston -_-

I wish manuals had like a crappy auto gear mode or something for city driving in traffic, then i would be ALL over it.

Seeing my sedan with engine ripped out and being declared a total loss was very sad...poor thing.

I bet I'll feel better about it really soon heh...in a new red sedan...

PS Not gonna engine mod this one, too much drama, not enough gains really....had intake, nos, ecu mods, exhaust....

Believe it - I live in Houston too, and have limited interest in the 6MT. Maybe if we lived somewhere that had great canyon roads on the way to work, but honestly - maybe the auto degrades the performance from 100% to 98% That's unlikely to make a difference to me (or most of the people on the forum...).

Don't misunderstand, I can sympathize with the people who had to have a stick, and have no doubt they are enjoying. Just don't think that the G is any less of a great car for having the auto.

Advice

Make absolutely certain that you give the car a test ride before you buy.
1, Turn off the radio and A/C and listen for the wind noise by your left ear
2. Listen for a vibration between 50 and 60 MPH
3. Ck the tranny. Pull up on a slight incline, put in reverse and back down the hill a little way then put in drive and take your foot off the brake. Does it keep rolling backward.

If any of these are true, try another one or a different brand. I wish that I had. My dealer just says that's the way the car is made.
