We got an eclipse 5510 put into my wife's car. The ipod integration unit disables scrolling when the parking brake is not engaged, so you only have access to the first 8 items on each screen (artist, album, genre, etc etc)

Well, speaking of music being controlled on the touch screen, when you play music via the CF slot, you can touch the screen and change the songs. It does deffinately suck that the navigation doesnt work while driving, thats the #1 complaint i have with this car. That and 3200rpms doing 80

Hard drive and flash drive connections are standard on 2007 Sedan?

It seems with the built in hard drive and flash drive input they is really no need for IPOD on the new 2007 G35 sedans.

except :
  1. I've got better things to do than burn ~200-300 cds for the MusicBox
  2. Putting all my music on CompactFlash cards would mean I'd have..20 2GB CF cards strewn around my car
  3. It's ultra-convenient to use only one music device, especially when that music device is as easy to use as the ipod
  4. ipod's almost easier to use while driving than the nav system
  5. 80GB 80GB 80GB 80GB 80GB 80GB 80GB 80GB 80GB 80GB 80GB 80GB

THAT SAID, I have about 60 CDs loaded into the car, three 2GB CF cards, and a sh~tty 30GB ipod..

+1. I haven't used the Hard Drive or the CF slot. I don't have time to move all my music around (burning all my AAC DRM files to CD and then importing them). I will be one of the first to get the integrated iPod unit when it becomes available.

looks pretty cool, only you can not use your XM functions. If you do not use them anyway or do not have them active then it seems like a good solution for now...

+1. I have over 4,000 songs on my iPod all of which are AAC files. I'm NOT interested in having to put them all on CF cards or onto the MusicBox.

Like I've been saying from the beginning, this was about a 50% solution for Infiniti. Looks very cool, sounds like a great idea, but built in 10gb hard drives are becoming options on a lot of other non Nissan/Inf vehicles so pretty soon they are going to have to up the ante. I think there are about a half dozen bugs in this system that they need to fix and I agree, I'd be first in line for a full Ipod solution no matter the cost.

Ipod Playlists Only

I have an 80gb give IPOD, but honestly I only use my "DRIVING MUSIC" playlist which consists of about 600 songs. In reality I could probably get away with a 5-10 gigs of space. The main benefit of my IPOD is if my computer ever crashes. Which has happened. IRIP software can safe you in these situations. You can extract selected songs or all from any IPOD. Maybe you can modify or upgrade the 2007's hardrive space the same you can with TIVOs or DVRS?

If they through in the bug fixes on the base system as well as the Ipod upgrades I would easily pay that as well

Hmm... a grand? If the LCD has full functionality while the car is moving (unlike the Nav), I may go for it too.

G37 new and old

That sucks that I buy a G35 a year or so ago and now the new model is pretty dramatically nicer. But I guess that's how it works with technology and cars. Should I lease next time and get the hard drive upgrade? Is there an IPOD adapter coming out? In all honestly I feel IPODs are the best MP3/music players. Perhaps after market modification which simply integrates ITUNES software onto the car's computer? Is that too elaborate?
