I'm thinking of getting an 08 sedan Sport, auto.
but ive heard of problems with sunroof trims, weatherstripping, auto shifter locking & not smooth.
will most of these things be fixed on the 08's or not ??
plus, how much can i get an 08 Sport auto for, non -prem.

well i just bought my 07 ~ over a week ago, and it's fine, my tranny doesn't lock up and haven't had a problem yet. No one really knows if there are going to be changes to the 08, but for some reason, i highly doubt it, B/c most car manufacturers usually wait about 2-3 years before they change anything, when its time to refresh the car.

well, if the manufacturers know that something is a problem, you would think they will fix it b4 it comes out, then it becomes the dealers problem, and dealers dont want that.

I don't know about transmission issues but I'm sure the weatherstripping, sunroof trims issue won't exist in '08. The real question is weather or not the G37's grill, which is different from the sedan's, will pitt and chip just as bad as the '07 sedan's grill, and, whether or not they will have fixed that issue on the '08 sedans. A chipping grill just isn't acceptable. My FX has 71k miles on it and the grill looks nearly as good as the day I bought it (when it's clean of course)

The sunroof trim has already been fixed as of a certain build date. I don't know the exact date, but mine was built in January and it already had the fix.

As to the rest of them.... beats me...

I guess you'll just have to wait and see. Keep in mind that the transmission problems you've described, the iKey issue and others have happened only to a very small percentage of the 07s but Infiniti seems to be keeping on top of most of them with service bulletins. I agree with N50 about the grill though it is absolutely unacceptable. My dad has an 05 FX45 and his grill looks like new while my 07 G looks like I enjoy following too close on gravel roads. I'm really hoping for a little help from Infiniti on this one.
