Inside door handles - silicone soft touch paint?

I was reaching to close the door the other day and I guess my hand slipped and actually CHIPPED the interior door handle bar.

It feels like it is made with some kind of silicone soft touch paint.

Have this happened to anyone yet?

Anyone know of some kind of touch up silicone paint i can get for that?

Will post pic tomorrow.

Mine did the same thing, I wish they put the color all the way through the plastic... I took a permanent black sharpie and just colored it in. Looks good, although mine was a very small nick.

I wonder if the dealer will do anything about this. Who the hell uses cheap silicone paint-ish material for areas where you are most likely to scratch in a pretty high end car?? This is no Altima.

My iPod case uses silicone paint

Wow, my nick was in the same spot as the one farthest from the window switch. Same size and location..

I gave my car to a valet the other day and got a nick near the door handle. It's maybe the size of a grain of sand, but it's driving me crazy.

Anyone have any success fixing one of these marks?

This soft touch paint really does stink. It gets light scratches very easily too.

Since it was just a tiny spot I tried a Sharpie and it worked well. You can barely see anything now. If it was a larger scrape though I don't think a Sharpie would do it.

I used a sharpie last week..... but it's already worn off (the sharpie mark).

Even used the commercial duty permanent black sharpie.

Dealer didn't have any suggestions.

The stuff on the handles (and steering wheel) looks and feels nice...... but I'll take a sturdy interior over a pretty one that scratches easily anyday.

Anyone found a fix for this yet? I'm surprised the dealer doesn't have something.

The mirror on my '05, HomeLink button, had a chip like that, happened a year or so ago, never got any worse though, and that obviously was being touched a lot. I agree, it's odd they don't make it a solid color for a spot like that. But, I'm sure this isn't "paint" it's some sort of bonded plastic finish, not just painted! BTW, this interior is like ten times nicer than the '03-'04, and from my observation so far, much sturdier, the console on those cars as well as the standard door handles, scuffed and scratched if you looked at it sideways!
