First Problem; PS air bag malfunction

Well, the first problem on our 6 month old G35 S. The PS air bag status light is on all the time indicating air bag not active even with an adult sitting in the seat. The supplemental air bag warning light on the dash blinks all the time. Owners manual says it will blink when malfunction in the PS air bag system occurs. So guess trip to dealer is in order for next week.

There's a big lawsuit against Lexus for this problem... must have the same supplier for the sensor. No problems here, so maybe it's a build date thing.

Dealer scheduled visit in morning at 10:30. Said they may have to order parts if air bag problem. Think adviser knew right away about the problem when I just started to describe it over phone. Will see.

Sorry to hear that. I hope it's an isolated incident (for the sake of all of us )

My 2007 developed the same problem after only 500 miles. The dealer replaced a faulty sensor in the passenger seat which seems to have fixed the problem.

Update

Just back from return trip to dealer to get car. They found nothing wrong. No code was set in the computer, so when they reset with computer it cleared the blinking light. Said it could have been anything like seat belt buckle latch not seating properly. With no code set in computer, no way to know. Tech said he hadn't seem many problems like this on 07's. I asked if I could clear the light and they said no had to have tech computer. I will try to see if the service manual procedure under "SRC" section tells me anything about clearing fault to turn off blinking light.
