Throttle Sensitivity

There seems to be two camps regarding the sensitivity of the '07 G35 Sedan's throttle. I would like to conduct a poll to get everyone's opinion on whether the DBW throttle response should be changed.

There have been numerous threads regarding this issue.

Please, only vote if you have driven an '07 G35 Sedan.

What is the point of this poll? The last thread on this topic was closed, and everyone got their thoughts across.

I didn't want to take the time to count the opinions in the last thread, so I thought a poll would be approipate.

It's not an issue... its just something you have to get use to. Just like every clutch has a different feel, every throttle has a different sensitivity & responce.

You guys need to go back to driving school. It's a sports car with 306hp and 268 torque. If it's too powerful, you should consider trading it for a Pinto...

I would think the opposite: With these kind of performance numbers the car BETTER be able to launch at the blip of a throttle.

Everyone complains about throttle lag...no you get great throttle responce and you B!tch about it

can't wait to try it on the loaner on thursday!:RAISEROOF:

TIAN 09-10-2007 11:53 AM

I drove an 07 sedan loaner and thought the throttle response was just fine.

bulldog25 09-10-2007 03:19 PM

throttle is different than the '05 Coupe i drive everyday. But the loaner I drove was an automatic also, I think the throttle feels diferent between the 05 man & autos also. So I think your making a big deal outta nothing. You shoulda got a manual tranny I think the autos are kinda strange to drive period in all model years. I can't ever find a good partial throttle either all go
or I'm poking along like a grandpa.

csdstudio 09-10-2007 04:13 PM

It works fine, though I think the tranny needs a personality adjustment more than the throttle. Too many thumps in M, unpredictable in D, RPMs hang forever in DS. Anything else?

CFar 09-11-2007 09:48 AM

I think it works just fine, in fact I'd like a little bit more on tip in, but in essence it only has 260+ ft/lbs. Now if we were dealing with a car that has say 500 I'd want something with a longer throttle, but with what we have, no complaints.

i posted this in the original discussion. try driving without shoes, and using your toes/balls of your feet to control the throttle.

I like it, keeps the wife from wanting to dirve my car.

NewGMan 09-12-2007 06:29 AM

Its not designed well as it seems are many of the control systems in the G (including climate system, surging cruise control, etc.) . I have been to driving school and am a reasonably good driver, have had many sports cars before and although I am used to it for the most part and do not have an issue it still catches me off guard sometimes.

Someone at Infiniti should consider going to a basic controls course and learn about setting the gain correctly for all these systems.
