Can someone verify with me if they have removed the chrome strip on the rear trunk and reinstalled it? I am looking to get mine painted and wanted to know how easy it was or feasable

I thought I read somewhere (maybe in the FSM?) that removing the back-up camera will require it to be recalibrated to the HU. Just something to keep in mind.

Did you disconnect it or leave it hanging while the chrome piece got painted?

Repainting the chrome lip is the ONLY WAY to go! I said when first seeing that lip that eventually owners will be painting it. What process is used to have the paint stick to the plastic? I would love to give it to the dealer before I even picked up the car when new.

my bodyshop painted over without any primer, he said primer wont stick on it very well. so far so good, the worst part was sanding the pos down to plastic. took me almost 2 days lol
