That is the rattles of a G. My sub in the back barely feels like it even has any thump. All my rattles are in the front doors where a majority of the volume is.

Some people have brought their Gs back in and they have been fixed by the dealer. Some have brought them in and came back worse than when they started. Some just dealt with it.

Run some thread searches...there is a lot out there about this problem...

If you dynamated your car, would it help fix the issue?

Its weird, I had rattles while listening to a song with heavy bass, it did it once and it hasn't happened since...knock on wood.

With three 10"s located throughout the car, it'd be naive to think you won't get rattles sooner or later...I just hope I get mine later rather than sooner.

At the risk of offending you, there's little else you can do other than turn down the bass. Let's face it; rap music is arranged to thump and bump. The stock system (and Dynamat)can only do so much....

Crank it and walk around with some felt - start jamming it in.
You'll eventually find em all. or most of them.

I second this recommendation. I've done the felt thing on my other cars and it's much cheaper and lighter than dynamat. More effective too b/c it acts as a cushion between hard plastic and metal.

Obviously, you don't want to use felt on anywhere that can get wet - like the door panels. Rear deck, dash, center console, etc. are all OK.

Hi CKP,
i just bought my G35 this weekend, and had a problem similar to yours - not all music would cause the rattle on the rear deck, but certain albums with deep percussion made it painfully obvious. In my case, it was the opening heartbeat on Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon - came in handy in demo'ing it for the service guy :-)

reading other posts on this topic - I tried feeling around to see if I could identify the source, and in my case, it was not the speaker grill or seatbelt mechanism as others had mentioned

so - while they had my G, and they were installing a spoiler - had them take a look at it. Turns out, there was a wiring harness underneath the rear deck that had come loose - they fixed that and now it is completely gone

so check that out - hope it helps you!

Rattle

That rattle may be the emergency trunk release handle. If its not properly secured it will rattle. Had the same issue over the weekend and resolved it by putting the handle in the holder. Hope this helps.
