New G35X Saturday! - grounding

Hooray! I'm 40 and this is the first NEW car I've ever purchased (I was a die-hard used buyer). 2007 G35X, Slate blue/black, A/T, premium package, splash guards and trunk net, $34,600 + tax. I think I got a pretty fair deal.

I've read about the aggressive "tip in" but it's nothing compared to the M. The M is scary at parking lot speeds because the pedal is so touchy.

Now I have to figure out if I need grounding wires ;-). I checked out the comments on the Gordon Gee wires, but they seem pretty pricey. This site has a 12 wire kit for $90.

My friend who used to race says it's snake oil. The car seems to shift and accelerate very well, but I'm just a junkie for little tweaks.

Hello and Thanks!

Congratulations!

I have no idea about the grounding wires you speak about. Just make sure that you don't wind up having warranty problems because of them.

My g/f recently got that same car but also got the tech package. It is a wonderful car and I can safely say it is the best value for the money on the road today.

I have an M3 which I have a love / hate relationship with and an Armada (which I love). After seeing the technology in her car I am a little jealous

The whole grounding thing -- in this car -- is a sham. After messing around -- A LOT -- with the electrical I've found at least 4 solid spots where the car is grounded to bare metal just in the front of the cabin, and there are several other GOOD spots already in use under the hood.

I don't know about previous gens and my experience with my 04 Maxima was that it was worthwhile, but I can tell you in this car it makes no sense. Infiniti already did a hell of a job with that.

Pics of the '07 GroundingGear kit, FYI (smoke color); very thick, heavy duty cables and connectors.

Congrats

I'm sure the new car smell beats the pre-owned ones...
