All right, here are my times. I will scan in the time slips when I get to work on Monday. Also, I left the video up to him, which he didn't bring. We're going back I think next Friday. Anyways (sorry for no video now), but my times are as followes. Pay no attention to the response time, as it really doesn't matter because the clock starts when I move, no when the lights go green. Also, first time at track. There's my excuse.

1st = R/T 1.081; 1/8 9.023; 1/4 13.980; MPH 99.06 (Right Lane)
2nd = R/T .986; 1/8 9.056; 1/4 14.021; MPH 98.82 (Right Lane)
3rd = R/T 1.062; 1/8 9.119; 1/4 14.095; MPH 99.48 (Left Lane)
4th = R/T 1.031; 1/8 9.127; 1/4 14.123; MPH 99.02 (Left Lane)
*5th = R/T .699; 1/8 9.106; 1/4 14.088; MPH 99.63 (Left Lane)

My 5th run was against Ahujadaddy in his '08 G37. His time was 14.021 @ 100.11 (with fresh tires I might add; he knows mine are going on me). Anyways. HA!

From what I saw, he was running pretty much the same numbers as I. Look for him to post under our clubs sight (see signtautre tag).

Thanks for sharing. I'd say with new/newer tires you would run better.

It was just interesting to see that we both consistently kept getting slower throughout the night (1st - 4th run). Even tried to let the car cool down for a bit. Oh well, my 1st, his 2nd. Both of us are running the Fujita's. Should be interesting when my 19s are on. Will let everyone know.

Pretty respectable numbers! Does not look like much gain over stock from the Fujitas though. Can you tell us what your launch technique is? Were you consistent using the same technique on all runs or did you change things up a little? VDC ON or OFF?

Well, as far as technique (if you call it one), I consistently did the following:

1) Windows up; AC off; VDC off; DS Mode only; favorite CD (optional);
2) Drove around the water pit (street tires no burn-out; not necessary);
3) Left foot on brake (just enough to not roll; not all the way down; just aenough); Right foot slightly reved (wasn't looking at tac; needed to see the lights, so not sure what rpm, know it wasn't over 2500);
4) Left foot let off break/Right foot floored it!

Pretty simple really. If you're new to the track, as I am, I wouldn't worry so much about your response time. That will come. The clock starts ticking when your front bumper passes the sensor. Friday night was just test and tune. Meaning no real side-by-side racing in that sense. Sure, you run side-by-side, but like I said, the response time didn't matter. Nor did it matter that you could be running next to a 10 sec. civic hatchback (thing was sick)! Forget about the pro series, holy $$$$$HIT!

Anyways, I'm sure I can consitently run in the high 13's, just need some fresh tires as the rears are starting to go after 12450 miles (driving somewhat aggresive). The last run was pretty cool, because it was me and my fellow G37 brother. Video will come in the near future. Sorry folks, I know people really want to see this happen. It will, trust me! Until then, practice one of two ways:

1) Buy the xBox 360 steering wheel (as I did) and practice with some of their racing games (PGR, Juiced, Need for Speed, etc.).

2) Go to a local track, it actually pretty damn fun and the only ticket you get is from a track lady with no points or fee to pay! HA!

Thanks for sharing. It seems like you started just a bit slow but from the video, you seem to have caught up with the G37 a bit.

I guess they are pretty close in term of performance in straight line. The G37 probably is a little better around the corner with more aggressive suspension and tires setup. Most magazines said most people wouldn't tell the difference in performance.

The G37 does have a nice motor but damn why that thing has to be so heavy.

Good stuff! As most speculated, the straight-line performance difference between the 2 are more or less neglible, and it is essentially a driver's race.

Imagine what that 3.7 motor can do for the sedan.. *drool*

I'm putting on a new set of REO50A's shortly, as my rear will need them soon. Should be even closer with the added grip. Plus, we're heading back to the track either this Friday, or next. Hopefully we'll have a better run. Also, I think I hear someone in the video say the G37 redlighted!

Eitherway!
