Angry poor video quality on nav screen. is this normal?

I just got an 08 G35x sedan and hooked up a ps2 to play games and dvd's through the nav screen, but the picture quality is pretty bad. Has anyone else experienced this? I have the ps2 in the glovebox with the yellow/red/white wires running out the back of the glovebox through the trim to the aux input in the center console. Thanks for the feedback.

just curious, did you bypass the e-brake restriction?

I just recenty tried out a movie through a cheap portable player it it looks fine on the Nav screen. Do you have Nav?

It's a low res screen, and your signal is coming through a composite input.

I would NOT expect it to look as good as a laptop, etc.

Do you have nav? I believe non-nav is lower resolution.

i do have the nav, and i didn't bypass the e-brake restriction because i was told that the video would shut down anyway once i got going over 5 or 10 mph. i wouldn't expect the picture to look amazing, but having wavy lines running through it when it fades to black is pretty bad. i think my aux input is just f'd up, going to take it over to infiniti tomorrow. glad it normally looks better i was pretty pissed.

Mine looks shockingly good actually.

I hooked up a dvd player to it and watched nip/tuck and I was surprised how crisp it was.

I have a garmin gvn 52 (black box gps system) running on it all the time and it looks great.

Not a high def screen, but definetly on par with a cathode tv.

I have a non-nav model.

cheers

You can also change the quality to standard, widescreen, etc. Make sure you have it set for standard or 4:3. Playstation 2 is not standard widescreen.

mine looks amazing on the screen. the sound is awesome with the SOW system.

mess with the settings of the ps2 and the display settings to get it set right like airhoppz said.

It could also be your cables. If they're not decent quality, you may pick up electrical interference.
