Water leaking from doors?

We had a big rainstorm, and my car was parked in the driveway. I didn't look at it until the next day, when it was completely dry. I opened the driver door and a rather surprising amount of water leaked out from the bottom, but I could tell if it was just sitting in the door seal or came from inside the door. As a test I opened the passenger side and a fair amount of water also leaked out, although not as much as the drivers side.

Is this normal? Has anyone else noticed something like this? I'm very concerned that water might have gotten into the door which of course would cause a whole host of problems.

TIA

Normal. Doors always get water inside, that's how they're designed.

It would be nigh on impossible to completely seal the window at its bottom unless they changed to a sunroof type closure. Even those leak some water, that's why they have drains.

Maybe I'm clueless about that, but I have NEVER seen water leaking out of a car door, except on on my old M30, after I whanged up the passenger side mirror. The door rusted out and the water killed the electrical system.

So I'm a bit paranoid
