You're correct. The difference w/ the AT is, the car's ECU does the rev matching for you. So when you downshift, the engine is automatically revved so that the RPM jumps up to match what it should be when the car shifts to the lower gear.

This has been a feature on automatic G35s even back in the 1st gen.

Nope, not all AT's have manual mode, and if they do have manual mode, not all of them Rev-Match, some will just tugg the sh*t out of you when you do downshift.

'05-up auto's had the rev matching.... '03-'04's dont

Thanks for educating me guys. Now I have to go and find one without it to feel the differences. It should be easy. All I have to do to go to the GM dealer to testdrive a used crap.
