Thanks, I plan on doing the same.

Althought I wanted to mention that I still spun the rears in 2nd gear. The car rides smoother than it did, and I notice on turns it doesn't slide as easy. So I think 34 is the optimal pressure range we need to stay in for these tires.

^ you guys have some incredibly powerful cars. Mine won't spin in 2nd unless you count a hard shift from 1-2 that will give a little squeal. It won't even spin them in first unless there is wet or slippery road surface, or I do a higher rpm clutch drop. The few times I've driven it recently in 32 degree F temps with the PS2 summers it will actually spin in first however. (the tires are like rocks) Where did I lose 100+ horsepower you guys seem to have over me?

VQ35HR is amazing. It is a completely different experience. I had an 04 6spd G35 and an 04 6spd 350Z (neither of which would regularly light up second gera) and my 07 G35S is significantly more powerful, and the power delivery couldn't be more different.

^I haven't driven an '07 6mt so can't compare. It does seem rather amazing that an extra 25 or so hp will make your tires light up in 2nd when mine won't do it in 1st. The hp and torque curves are fairly similar too. WOW, the G37 must light them up in 3rd!

Agreed. I also had a 04 and 05 G35. Both didn't do this in 2nd gear just by giving it half throttle. But the other cars also had different tires on them.

Since we both have the same tire model I have a feeling the tires have something to do with it. I bet if we had different tires, let's say some GS-D3 or KDW I bet we wouldn't have the traction issue anymore.

The difference may be more than 26 due to SAE standards and stuff. Russ, I had RE050s on my Z as well, same size in fact. Of course I don't think I ever ran them this inflated.

I'm probably going with the KDWs when I get through this set.

I see. Yes, I would run slightly higher pressure for long distance, high-speed driving, to cut down the heat generated in the tires, which reduces wear/increases safety and helps with gas mileage. The highway tends to be smoother too so the sacrifice in ride wouldn't be as much as in town.

I ran 35psi for my weekend trip which was 450 miles. On the way up, I drove pretty slow, about 75mph and I averaged 29.4mpg (better than my expectation). I averaged 83mph on the way back (225 miles), and my mileage dropped to 27mpg (that included the first 225 miles of 29.4mpg), meaning I averaged more like 25mpg on the way home.

The car road nice on 35psi.
