Air resonance in passenger compartment

Mine is an '07 6MT. When I roll down one or both of the rear windows I get a really strong resonance of the air in the passenger compartment while moving. It's quite rough on the eardrums. I'd say its frequency is about 3Hz, and it's present at speeds above, say, 20MPH on even a smooth road surface.

If I roll down a front window it goes away.

Probably a tire issue, but I wanted to see if anyone else
has experienced this.

thx
Dan

It's been discussed before... and watch your ears if your over 80, it's painful. All in, it's agreed iti is the shape of the car and merely the aerodynamic properties that occur when those rear windows are down. The G35 is not the only car I have felt it in, albeit the most painful.

I'm 99% certain it has 'nothing' do with tires, but I'm willing to listen to your theory?

Yeah, it's definitely not a tire issue. It's turbulence caused by the incoming air. Try a google search on "buffeting" and you'll get plenty of information.

incoming air and the aerodynamic of the car. All you have to do is just let your fron windows down a bit also.

I tried once out of accidence (pressed the rear passenger instead of front passenger) on my 04 G, it was painful on the ears even at 50mph
