2008 G35X Splash Guard Replacement

Recently picked up a 08 G35X prem, nav, and tec. Noticed at delivery the driver-side rear splash guard had a small nick. Dealer agreed to order a new set and ship to my house. How difficult is it to remove a splash guard? Looks like it is attached with two screws and some type of pin. I am most concerned about removing the pin, as I do not want to break anything. Dealer will do the removal and install, however, they are far away and I am concerned they will damage something. I would rather do it on my own. Any advice?

It's just a few screws and some double-sided tape... no pins.

The hardest part of the install is the small hole which needs to be drilled underneath.
If you don't have a small 90 degree drill, you need to jack the car up enough to get your drill under there.
With you already having the guard in place... it'll be gravy.

My dealer forgot mine and I didnt notice it until I got home.
They were sent to me and I had all four installed in about an hour... and that includes jacking and drilling.

You'll have yours on in less than 5 minutes... no worries.
Just be sure to clean the area real well after removing the old one and installing the new one. The tape will adhere better.
I used an alcohol/water solution to clean mine.

Thanks for the tips. I see the two screws in the wheel well but there is something else holding the guard on the bottom. It does not look like a Phillips will work. Should I pry it off with a flat-headed screw driver? Did your guards come with the needed fastners, screws, and double-sided tape?

the factory splash guards come with all installation instructions and hardware...

You should have them install it for you if they agreed to replace it for you!

The double-stick tape is pre-attached to the guard. After installation with the supplied screws, you pull the paper out from behind the guard, exposing the tape which attaches to the car.
Mine didn't come with any pins but with screws.

I can try to take a pic of them if you need.
