Propeller shaft lubrication question

Since there are no zerk fittings on the propeller shafts, what is involved with maintenance? Do I need to spray some lithium grease onto the u-joints at 15K intervals?

Thanks!

I suppose you could, but I have never heard of anyone doing maintenance on a drive shaft.

I used to build custom driveshafts in a past life...
If the u-joints or slip joints have fittings, they should be greased with every oil change with a high quality lithium grease.
Sealed joints require nothing. I have not checked out our setup yet.

Do we not have grease fittings?

Well then, I guess there's little to do to them then.
Spraying the exterior of the u-joints will do nothing for them.
The only way to lube a u-joint without fittings is to remove it from the shaft and grease the interior of the caps manually.... which is not necessary and is also pretty invasive. You stand the chance of causing damage to the joint and there's a good chance that the shaft may be slightly out of baalnce as well.... especially if parts are not marked and reassembled back the same way.

Actually, the grease fitting free joints hold up for a fairly long time.
I guess we're safe to just let it be.
