Side sill in sport package

i think we discussed this somewhere before but the answers as far as I remmember arent very conclusive....

to install the sport type side skirts... is there any drilling involved? Or do we remove the covering thats currently on there and just install the sport ones? Assuming what is on there now is a covering.. if not then def would need drilling....

yea remove and install sports sills.

be forewarned, the lil plastic black pins are a pain to get out because they break when uninstalling. (the lil pins are on the back side of the side sill going into the rocker panels).

other wise they are held on by screws and push pins-front/rear/bottom.
i suggest a "crows foot" or gromet puller from the hardware store to get the broken pins out.

Thanks for the reply... and you know because LOL......sorry just trying to make sure....

you seem to already have a sport

these pins I assume are part of the moulded plastic... and not a clip that you can buy and replace..but then you also mention gormet puller...

do they have 3m tape or something along the edges?

i work at nissan in smyrna tn. my zone includes the installation of side sills/mudgaurds on the altima and maxima.

the altima has the same type of sill and intalltion parts.

the clips are seperate and slide into groves and mounts on the molded abs plastic sill.....

you should be able to get a bag of them from the dealer.

the gromet puller is simply to pull out the broken part of the pin that is still in the hole on the rocker panel. you gotta pop that sucker out to be able to mount up your new sill with new pins in position.

yes, there are some edges on the rear portion that try to prevent chips
