New fender: $267.51
Body Labor 5.5hrs @ $50/hr = $275
Paint Labor 7.3hrs @ $50/hr = $365
Paint Supplies 7.3 hrs @ $25/hr = 182
+ some random little things + 94.96 sales tax
Came out to a whoppin' $1195.
Riiiiiidiculous.
I told him I'd think about it a.k.a. never goin back.
I was hoping this was gonna be closer to around $500 or less. Looks like I'll have to bite the bullet and go thru insurance and pay the $500 deductable. For a few dents it doesn't seem worth it, but everytime I look at my car I wanna shed a few tears.
Anyone know of a good body shop around the Westchester area or maybe even Queens that can give me an honest price and do quality work? Thanks.

you will get rust build up on your rotors overnight no problem. its nothing to be concerned about at all. the first time you take it out and hit the brakes its gone.
and regardless of that estimate breakdown it is a little on the high side, but not out of question. and typically when a bodyshop gives you a breakdown they go by what the book lists for time. and even still if you go through ins. if the estimate is out of wack the adjuster will haggle it out with the bodyshop. and its always a good idea to get more than one estimate, and never tell the other guy what the first guys number was. if you were upstate ny id send you to my fathers bodyshop since he has his own place.

somebody backed into my coupe last week and dinged the front fender too... f^$kers didnt leave a note
its in the shop now, gona cost $300 cash... my insurance excess is $500.
Looks like you got a bit of damage to your bumper as well as the fender.

a good buddy of mine is friends with the owner. he did bodywork for me when i busted up one of my old cars and i couldnt drive it upstate to my old mans bodyshop. they did a nice job on it, and they do custom hotrod work too so they have skills. i used to live not too far from these guys too which made it convienent. besides, the work you need done is very simple work. you could theoretically buy a fender yourself and have someone paint it and install it yourself if you were so inclined. but since its going to a bodyshop they will clean up your bumper cover too. if those scratches dont polish out, then they will most likely repaint the whole thing for ya.
