Hi, i have about a 10 foot wide driveway. Just today, im sitting in my G in the driveway, and i put it in D, release the Ebrake, and pop the selector over to Ds. Then I pull back, going into gear 1, and I hear a "more mechanical" noise i guess is what i would say. Like an electric motor turned on. Very odd. I only noticed this when i put it from D to manu-matic in between my 4 foot high driveway walls.

Has anyone ever heard this before, or Does anyone have a similar setting to test and see if mine is an anomaly?

It wasn't just the engine fan turning on? The tranny should have already been in 1st, so manually switching it down shouldn't have changed anything??

 

Well, I did think the same, until I moved back to D, and DS, and the noise disappeared. Switch to Tip, and BOOM, the noise is back. Tried multiple times---Same result.
