Helicopter sound with rear window open

I am a new G35 owner and love the car, the only thing that bugs me is when either rear window is open and the fronts are closed I get a thumping helicopter sound from the wind. Is this normal and does anyone have this issue the dealer tells me it is a problem with all the G35's and there is no fix. Is this true? I searched the forum here and just can't find a thread anywhere, if there are some please help me find them. This is just a very annoying problem and I really want to know if it is normal and if so is there a fix for it.

Its a common thing with every car ive owned. Its just the sound of the wind turbulence.

That's an issue with all cars. The same thing will happen if the moonroof is open with all windows closed, and that little deflector is pulled down. It's a sound similar to when you blow into a bottle, it's a kind low frequency humming sound. It has to do with air flow over the car and pressure.

It's called buffeting. It goes away quickly if you open a front window.

You found the resonant pitch of your car's interior. As bigblokey said its the same thing as whistling into a beer bottle, its just a much bigger bottle.

Just crack open any other window and the buffeting goes away. You don't have to open the other window a lot - just dropping it maybe 5" is enough.

It's the G's drag chute - you must have accidentally deployed it

Yeah just crack your front window an inch and it will go away. My dog loves riding with his head out the window but when I put the back one down I crack the front as well.

I've had the same problem. If you don't want to roll down your front windows just rear but don't want to hear that sound, just raise the sun roof. You don't have to slide it back, just raise it and the air will flow better or something and the sound will go away. Happens with my car all the time. This is a common occurance on most sedans, as far as I can tell.

That works too - need to balance the air flow.

Maybe he never had a sedan before. I personally always had coupes and none of them did it. This car being my first sedan, I had no idea it was normal.
