How good is the factory alarm?

I was just wondering since I came home to visit my parents and the neighborhood I grew up on has gone downhill fast. I know it is nothing fancy like proximity sensors but how well will it alert people if there is a break in. I have some of my nice stuff in it since I am in the middle of moving to Dallas.

It is designed to go off when something is opened when it shouldn't be.

E.g., if someone breaks your window, it won't go off, but if they unlock the door from inside and open it, then it'll go off.

Lame. And no motion sensor either? Seems pretty weak to me.

That's why we offer aftermarket alarm systems

Adjustable shock sensitivity and zones ftw.

I'll know if anyone even DINGS my car.

Go aftermarket. Look at my avatar. Someone hit me and it didn't go off.
Get something with good range and two-way pagers. Remote start is always a nice touch. I got the Viper 5900.

But, I wish I had got the Compustar aftermarket alarms. Those look nice.
