Induction flush at the dealer

went in for an oil change and since i'm close to 25k miles, they recommended an induction flush for $139. has anyone paid for this? is it worth it?

Sounds like a glorified Throttle body/intake cleaning, priced at cleaning out you wallet too.

induction flush? lol, does that involve warm yogurt, a rubber bladder, some rubber hose, some lube, and a toilet?

If you're worried about dirty injectors, get a $5 bottle of Techron at the local parts store and follow the directions.

i would recommend something like that at 50k not at 25k...it is a precaution but still not necessary

True. But in this case, "induction service" includes much more.

From: http://www.bgfox.com/mostwanted/fuel-air.html

"Fuel Air Induction Service

Service need: Deposits accumulate on intake valves, injectors, ports, fuel injectors, and combustion chambers, causing loss of power, rough idle, hesitation, misfire, pinging, knocking, mileage and hard starting.

Solution:
Clean fuel injectors
Clean throttle body
Clean plenum and air intake
Clean intake valves and ports
Correct balance of fuel and air in system
Result:
Reduced emissions
Restore horsepower
Increased fuel economy
Starts and idles smooth and runs quieter "

If you don't have, "loss of power, rough idle, hesitation, misfire, pinging, knocking, mileage and hard starting....." you probably don't need the service.

Sea Foam is another "do it yourself" solution. I've never used it, but many swear by it.
