Yeah... WTF!!!

I knew the first words I would see after posting those pics would be someone screaming for me to drop the car.
I have to admit, however, I didn't guess you to be the first to make the comment.

What's your plan? You going with the Eibachs?
Anyone happen to know what the ground clearance is with the Eibachs? I'm looking for the dimension from the ground to the front, where that little plastic lip hangs down from the bumper. I'd have to guess it to be around the height of a deck of cards standing on end. I have killer speed bumps at work and a steep driveway.

Wes, install some paddles already!

I just PM'd Rick for pricing on Eibachs.

You guys suck... a bunch of bad influences.
That what you guys are.... bad influences.

You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

Aeson are you talking about the black part under the front bumper? When I get home I can measure it for ya.

That's it... Thanks!!!
I need to know how many inches of snow I can drive in before I'm transformed into a plow.

I also need to know if those speedbumps are gonna be my demise.

Thanks again

okay here are the measurements:
1. From the black "skirt" thing under the front bumper to the ground you have 6 inches of clearance.
2. From the "mud flap" looking thing under the car to the ground you have 4 inches of clearance.
3. Finally from the lowest point of the engine liner to the ground you have roughly 3.75-4 inches of clearance (sorry i couldnt get a more accurate measurement)

ive driven 2 winters dropped on eibachs and have had only 1 major problem. an ice block (probably 4-5 inches tall) put a huge gash in my engine liner and that was on a 2 lane road so there was no avoiding the damn thing.

haha! hey... I know im gonna get it when I post pics of my ride... haha so I might as well say it on yours as well! drop that! haha Im having my 19's installed tomorrow! i cant wait!!

Yes yes... I have been thinking about the paddles... no worries.

About the drop.. im still on the fence. After my rims have been installed, then I'll judge how the car looks with the gap (even though I have a pretty clear picture in mind already with your pics).

Thanks for the info on clearance G35xQx1. Whats your real first name btw?

I know Aeson is Scott.

So basically, we have 4 inches of clearance. Im gonna check what the clearance is on my gf's ride (328xi coupe 07). Ive driven it many times and find her height very livable. If its about the same.. maybe that might push me over the edge with a drop. We'll seeeeeee.. heehehe

I just got the lip from Rick (thanks BTW) and now I've got a stupid question. I have a 3M clear bra on the front bumper so should I install the lip directly over that? The bra is actually peeling a little around the lower edges so replacing that might not be a bad decision. Thoughts?

I had the full clear bra on my car. All I did was clean it real well with diluted alcohol then installed the front lip right overtop of the clear bra. I have had no problems with it.

Ditto... I drank mass quantities of alcohol while installing my front lip and had no problems at all.

All you need is Johnnie and you got yourself the 3 wise men.
Or maybe invite Jose and have the 3 Mexican wise men.
Invite Johnnie with some Wild Turkey and you now have 3 wise men go hunting.
Invite Yukon with some Wild Turkey and you have 3 wise men on a farm.

My posts are absolutely useless this evening.
I'm going back to work....

With that said, couldn't you just put the spoiler itself against the bumper, mark all the holes, take the spoiler back off to drill the holes, peel off the adhesive tape, then place it back on there to fasten it and put the screws in... Wouldn't this be easier and quicker than dealing with the paper templates since the spoiler itself would be the template? Just curious...

I didn't use that approach because I didn't want to tighten up the screws and find that the spoiler pulled out of place.
The templates took time to cut out and place, but they worked perfectly.

I suggest using the templates.
