Cool Aftermarket Wheels

With gas prices going through the roof (i.e. $87 to fil my tank) have after market wheels affected the MPG and performance of the sedans? I need your thoughts and opinions guys.

Lighter + taller wheels = more gas mileage especially on high way.

As a general rule when you upsize tires and wheels you will negatively affect MPG.

I have noticed this on every car i have owned. It can range from a few mpg difference up to around 8-10. Style of driving and whether city or highway makes a difference also.

Just and FYI...

I went to 19's -and i'm getting around 14 in the city and 22 on the highway.

Thats nothing to do with the wheels. Thats due to driver mod. I have 20's and still get 17-18mpg city and recently avg 27.6 highway with only 3k miles and 1 oil change. Wheels will affect gas mileage. But not that much.
