i think you get what you pay for. I have cheap wheels too, that's why i won't complain when one cracks....

I'd stick with the MRRs. From personal experience, Axis wheels are exactly the same quality as other lower priced rims like MRR, Sevas, etc. They just try to market their rims as higher end by slapping them on the owner, James Chen's personal stable of nice cars like his 911, F360, etc.

I had a set of Axis rims which cracked 2x. These were the only set of rims I had ever cracked. Additionally, the clear coat on the lip began to disintegrate after several years and the axis logo on the center cap fell off.

If you're going to spend money for Axis rims, you may as well pony up a little more and buy some true high quality rims like these AMEs (check out the FS-01):

These rims are made by Enkei using their M.A.T. process and are much stronger than the cheap cast wheels. They're also reasonably priced compared to Volks, Works, iForged, etc.

These Xxr 006s are similar. I don't know anything about them, or if they come in larger sizes. But the 18s are dirt cheap.
