Sorry, didn't think to take a pic of the loaner. I actually noticed it was different simply because the chips looked so bad. There were tons of nicks and it was shiny underneath!!! Made it look very bad. If it had just remined chrome the way it was I am sure it wouldn't have noticed anything. Even on a pretty beat up loaner!!

I wouldn't think of getting one of these after seeing that.. but that's just me.

well you did say that the headlights were blacked out as well, and as you said that underneath the pitting it was shinny, could be that the grill was just painted as trial or fun considering there are no OEM blacked out headlights for the G... lets wait and see...

Also if it was painted by themselves and it was shinny underneath that means that they did a bad paint job by not stripping the chrome coating from the original...

I think the service adviser said it was an after market grill. It surprised me a dealer would use after market but whatever...

Rick,
Thanks for sending me the grille. I received it today and installed it tonight. It looks great. One thing that I wasn't expecting was that it has a metallic flake in the paint. I'll post pics tomorrow in daylight.

Thanks again,
Anton

+1 on the pics.

All of these parts look great, but so expensive! I gotta try to find some spare cash to get these along with the illuminated kickplates!

Truly, I'm done after I get the wheels and tires, intake, and slight tint to all the lights. I only have 35 months and 1 week more to enjoy the car, then I'll move on to something else. I'll get pics up, from afar it looks like every one elses pics with a black grille. I'll try to take a close up pic of the metallic finish. It's not really too noticeable, but was quite apparent under flourescent work shop lighting last night.

Looks good, AAMC. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about the chrome edges on the top and bottom, but I think I actually like them... I really like the metallic finish too!! Very nice car!
