Hi all. Just ordered a 08 X Sport. Black.

What do you think about these rims ? Chrome or Platinum ?

Thanks so much

I would suggest you look around on this site and others and find a wheel you love. I spent about $2000 on one set of wheels and tires which I replaced a year later with my first choice. My second set cost $4000+ with tires and mounting/balancing but look much nicer. Don't buy wheels you don't love, you'll end up wasting money by buying a second set and you won't be able to sell your first set without losing a ton of money. I spent 6k on wheels in one year - stupid. That's my two cents. Those wheels look ok.

If you like the G37 wheels just buy them. They are probably much cheapers (nearly new - used) and lighter than 1 piece aftermarket wheels.

thanks for the reply.

I feel stupid switching off the factory rims but I'm just not feeling those 18 inch sport rims. I like the ones I posted as they seem close to the g37 ones.

on black i like the jline sdm rl2's i think they're called...and you can never go wrong with volks...but both those companies charge around 750/rim so....the work varianza schwertz sc1 and sc2's are both nasty on black too

but if i were to get rims i'd spend about 4000 just so i end up with the perfect set...my personal favorites are volk GT-M and the GT-F...i like the GTM's better

i would go with chrome on the rl2's, but i don't think they make chrome for volks

the rims you posted look similar to 1st generation g35 rims...personally i'd go look for a set of those 19" OEM rays that came with the 1st gen G35 if you like that design

Those rims look like the 09 sport rims without the webbing in between spokes. Since you just ordered the car, I would ride on the OEM set for a while and get a feel for what might look good and what grabs you--I don't think there should be any rush. I bought a set before I even got the car and just 1 year later, am on set 2. The first set really didn't look right when I finally got it on the car.

thanks ! this forum is amazing.

I actually didn't order those oem rims yet. They are from fastwheels.

Is it just me who doesn't feel the factory sport rims ?
