Hello, can i get some help

Hey, guys, im new to hear b/c i love the g35, and im hoping to get 1 in a 2 years, when i have to return my acura tl. But i was going to get the g35 sedan but the g37 sedan came out so im going to get that, b/c i need room, and i need awd b/c i live in michigan. Is thier a really big diff in speed with rwd and awd? Will awd still be 0-60 in under 6 secs? And i was looking at some other cars, like the new a4, or any other fast cars under 40k? So can u guys help me find a fast good car?

Welcome to the message board! It's a great place to learn a lot about these great cars.

I do not have the facts in front of me, but I am sure there is some technical difference in quickness of the RWD and the AWD models. The better question would be finding out what the actual perceived difference is. Sometimes even though there is a technical difference, it may not feel the same in this car because unless the car feels slipping, it's typically RWD (on the AWD models) (If you don't know, this means that when it's not needed it directs its power to the rear-wheels)

As far as other cars, I'm in the same boat as you. I am getting a G37xS next summer when my lease is up. But I have also been looking around for other cars too.

Here's my overall PERSONAL opinions:
BMW 328xi = $40-50k = too slow, options really inflate the price
BMW 335xi = $50ish with decent options, this is a great car. It drives like a dream but to get all the same features as the G37 (loaded) you'd have to load up the BMW and that'll cost you $54+

Audi A4 = Personally didn't like how this car drove. Felt very sluggish and floaty. Comparably equipped was also more money (don't forget you have the slow model and the faster, but more expensive model of this one as well)

Acura TL = you say you have this one....I personally really loved driving the TL-S (2008) I didn't like the fact of FWD though. Right now I have a 07 Honda Accord V6. So it's fairly similar. I'd drive an 08 Tl-S. But they are releasing the new model soon, and as you may have seen it's a "love it or hate it" looking car. But they will offer faster engines and a SH-AWD version. So this is the closest I've found to matching the G37's performance and value.

Lexus IS... 250 is too slow... 350 isn't AWD. Very tight interior. Not enough bang for the buck.

Mercedes C300. Overall I really enjoyed this car. The only drawback was the power. Its only in the mid-200's as far as HP goes. You can get the 350model but it doesn't have AWD. If I could get 300hp outta this car with AWD I'd buy it. C300 decent options prolly mid 40's.

OK So those are my opinions..... Those are the cars I've extensively researched and what I think about them.
I highly suggest doing what I did. When you get within a year (so there are no significant changes, hopefully) Go out, make a list and start driving and comparing. Cross things off and you'll end up with your winner.

Oh I forgot to mention....
Scope out the G35 section of this message board and really start learning about these cars. The pros and the cons.
(G35 is very similar to the new G37) You'll learn about the differences too, with a click of the SEARCH button

Well, the new tl is horrible, ugly inside and out most acura tl members think that. And 42k for a ugly slow(0-60 6.3) car, i don't think so. Now that i think of it im starting to really think of getting the g37x sedan auto. Fast(0-60 5.5), nice car. But thier is also 300c awd, my cuzin has it. It very nice and good ride.

Be careful with the 300's & Magnums (I dont know if stopped making the Magnums yet) But they are the same exact vehicle. My friend has a Magnum and had nothing but electrical problems. The dealer said its prolly because its the first vehicles with electrical from Mercedez and the mechanical parts are Chrysler.

It could be a fluke. Make sure you ask your buddy how the reliability on his car is. And you seem smart, check out those message boards too!

I live in minnesota, and I don't feel the need for AWD. Two words:
snow tires

That said, if you really are set on AWD, I agree wholeheartedly with blackbirdw68's post regarding the choices.

The IS350 was my second choice (I came from an IS300 to my '07 G35S), but with similar options, it was into the 47k range which was 10k more than my '07 G35S was.

The '07 G35X and 1/4 mile are only slightly off the RWD models times. The previous generation G35X came out better in a number of autocross tests compared to the RWD G35X due to the overall better traction at the limits due to 4 drive wheels vs 2.

The Nissan ATTESA E-TS AWD system is very impressive, and very lightweight. If I recall right, it added only about 160lbs to the weight of the vehicle which is significantly less than many of the competitor's AWD systems.
