Apologies to the staff!

If I get into an acccident and the airbag doesn't work Nissan is looking at a really big lawsuit.

Haha, I printed out the letter from Nissan to the NHTSA and handed it to my service manager yesterday. He laughed, said they were always the last to know. The recall made the local news yesterday here in Cinci.

I emailed the letter to the sales person that sold me the car and then I'll give a hard copy to the service writer when I go in on Monday. Hopefully that will get the ball rolling and she'll get fixed.

Hmmm...read the letter, and it looks like this is a different problem. I have the same issue, my wife gets in the passenger seat and the 'passenger airbag off" light comes on.

But, looks like this recall a) doesn't cover my G (mfg in 2006), and b) shows different warning lights? So maybe doesn't help?

I know that I have this problem but my VIN isnt affected by the recall. Anyways, i dropped it off at Morrey Nissan for warranty. I told them, I noticed that the passenger airbag indicator would sometimes turn on eventhough someone is sitting. Anyways, dealer said that no codes were present and they didnt do anything to the car.

And i noticed that the airbag indicator was not ON eventhough no one was sitting on passenger seat ( meaning that the airbag will explode upon impact, to an empty seat), with this new info, will they fix my car? like it obviously indicates wrong, why do i need a code to prove the defect when it clearly is shown via indicator that there is a defect.

IIRC, the "airbag off" light switches off after a while, it doesn't stay on all the time if no-one's in the seat.

For some reason it annoys me how this reads like an Infiniti is a model in the Nissan line-up.
Infiniti is a make not model.

I guess I just got up on the wrong side of the bed.

My turns off 5 secs after ignition. Before i felt that it stayed on longer. I never see it on when no one is sitting on passenger sit. I see it on when someone is actually sitting. Irony..
If i videotape the incident and show it to dealer, they would have to fix it no?
enough with the Code BS.

Question

i have a similar problem in my 08 journey sedan. when my wife (115 lbs) sits in the seat- the AIRBAG OFF light comes on.. however after a few minutes- the light turns off (meaning the airbag is working?). is this normal? the car is only a few weeks old and just started noticing it. thanks in advance-

I was not aware of this problem when I took my car in for an oil change last week. However, the service manager told me about the recall and said they would perform it while my car was there. Turns out my car wasn't affected. +1 for Infiniti of Huntsville!!!
