Maintenance on a lease?

Hi,

I'm new to this forum and I just leased a g35x. I have a couple of questions on maintenance for lease vehicles, and would appreciate some answers. I noticed that there are 3 options for maintenance. Premium, schedule 1, and schedule 2. Who determines and how is it determined which schedule to use? Also, must all maintenance be done at the infiniti dealership? can you just have the maintenace done at a private meachanic shop and keep the records?

thanks

When the lease for my Mercedes was over, they did not even check if I even had one oil change done. So I'm guessing you can maintain it however you want.

Get the basic maint. done anywhere. If you have a private shop you can trust. Then be it. As you said keep the records on file. Just in case.

Thanks for the replies. Does anyone have any experience actually returning an infiniti leased vehicle that wasnt serviced/maintained by infiniti? Were alot of questions asked? Sorry, just new to leasing and am just curious.

Thanks

Well, I do not think you can be penalized for NOT performing regular maintenance, unless it's something like an engine failure due to low oil or other obvious neglect.

The lease contract should not require the other B.S. maintenance to be performed...within 3 years, the G35X should not need much more than oil changes and *maybe* a cabin filter replacement!

Anyway, it is my opinion that if a car company wants to lease you a vehicle, then THEY should be responsible for maintenance.

BTW: I take my Infiniti to my local Nissan dealer for oil changes...$34.95 and I'm done!

Can anyone post verbiage from their lease contract that states you MUST pay for all scheduled maintenance?

I do my own oil changes. Just keep your receipts from the dealer for your oil filters to prove you did buy them for the car. I have never had an issue with 3 previous least returns.
