Don't lease man...you'll walk away owning nothing.

Just wait! You'll be glad in the end. Spend that money on some ballin trips to Cancun or spend it on a girl to try and chase some tail.

Nothing says you can't mod an automatic car, either. I would venture to say a majority of Gen 2 Sedan owners here own an auto, myself included. Modding's all up to the owner. I plan on going strictly cosmetic.

Paddle shifters FTW! (but you can't get those on a base model )

i pictured a beat up smashed up G by the way you were talking about it. . . it's actually very nice. at 18 i was driving an altima 2.5Slow and as far as getting a manual same year ? a 6 speed was driven very hard was the previous owner so that means your fears of breaking down at 80k might be closer to coming true than your current situation. and another plus of having auto..... if you got a dope chick next to you you can hold her hand all the way to your destinations and prime it up.... it helps your game. true story.

You aren't doin' to bad @ your age driving a G . I was driving...my own 2 little legs back then. It's not until I graduated pharm school that I actually owned my first car...which happens to be the G I'm driving.

Just like the others have said, keep the coupe and save your money... IMO, your G looks pretty d@#$ nice to me. In fact if I were in the area, I'd take it off your hands .

1) Don't get the car. You're right on schedule to not having a car payment when you turn 21. $400 a month is a lot of beer money.

2) If you ignore #1. Don't settle for the base model. Especially at 33K...right now you should be getting a pretty much fully loaded on for that.

3) Never negotiate based on monthly payment amount.

Keep what you have. It's nice and it's not going to break down every 2 months. Any extra you might have needs to go to your mom to help pay for your own insurance. Time to step up and be become a more responsible car owner.

I agree with everyone who says keep the coupe. You're only 17, not even in college yet. You should be glad you even drive a G coupe at your age You will be done with that 370/month sooner than you would be with the $400/month on the new G. You're gonna need your $1200/month income more than you think for college. Your G's not gonna suddenly breakdown on you. Have patience now, reap the rewards later.

thanksss
Your payment would only go to $460 a month. That doesn't seem right. Given what you said above your new amount financed would be about $43K right? Given a 5% interest rate that would be 10 years of payments. I may be misunderstanding your post though.

+1. Based on the original post, looks like they will pay off the coupe (though I doubt they'd really give you $12K for an 03 with 80K miles), and the OP will put $2K down. That means he will finance $31K price plus taxes, etc. So assuming that comes out to a loan amount of $35K, you're still looking at about $600/month for a 72-month loan. At $460/month, you're looking at a loan amount of $28K for 72 months at 5%.
