The base G35 is probably the quickest out of all the models due to the lightest weight, lighter, smaller rims/tires, smaller brakes, etc. However, the difference is probably negligible btw G35 base and S.

You will easily beat both the FX and the Audi. But, please don't street race. Take it to the track and spank them both. BE CAREFUL. A 300hp RWD car is not an ideal car for a novice driver. It is ridiculously powerful and people do not realize this b/c it's a 4 door sedan. If you search, you will find posts by inexperienced drivers who have crashed their cars b/c they drove w/ the traction control off.

I was just wondering how fast it really is. I only have about 900+ miles on it and don't really wanna gun it yet. Some people at school think they can smoke my G, one of them drives a 07 FX35(which I personally think is fast for a crossover) and another drives an 08 Audi A4 S Line 4 cyl. I wanna wait until I hit the 1000 miles then start driving it faster. So do you guys think I can beat them?
LOL. You should have gotten an Acura. Those things are fast. Especially the Type-S's.

Those two people are idiots. The A4 can't even come close unless it's chipped and I think you'd still win. The FX35 is just a boat with less HP, it'll lose. Epic fail.

Yes please go to the track and use a clsoed area. +++10000 you will kill both cars. The A4 is SLOW( Unless chipped) the FX is even slower makes less HP than us and is heavier.

haha yeah no biggie, I'm just bustin your chops.

And x2 on taking it to the drag strip. The G35 is a nice car and you are very fortunate to have a brand new 2008 G35, most people your age have no such luxury. Don't screw it up, be responsible.

Besides, threads about street racing are prohibited on this forum, anything racing related must be legal so even if you were to run this guy on the street, you couldn't share it with any of us, the thread will just be deleted.

Be safe and enjoy your G35 "non type S"...as stated, "Type S" is an Acura designation. In the case of Infiniti, its simply G35S and it stands for Sport which includes everything on the Journey plus bolstered driver seat, stiffer suspension, larger brakes, 18" rims with summer tires, different front bumper and side skirts, optional spoiler, paddle shifters (for the AT) or a hand parking brake (for the MT), and a limited slip differential.

The Sport is no faster than a Journey or Base but it handles a lot better and brakes a lot better, downside is that it rides rougher.

yeah of course on a track or somewhere really really safe that's big and closed off but most likely a track...I don't even wanna try street racing WAY TOO MANY cops besides that don't wanna risk my life or anyone else's.

the only reason I thought the Audi MIGHT beat me cause it's really small and I'm guessing light too and is turbo...

nah I won't post videos here tho

Audi won't beat you, A4's are slow regardless of trim, in comparison to the G35. You can post vids here if you want as long as the race(s) took place in a controlled environment and its legal.

yea it's just weird cause I came from a 2007 Cadillac STS. It was a V8 4DR with 320HP and it was SLOW. and since the G is 306HP V6 I didn't think it would be much faster but I proved myself wrong lol. Now I'm trying to find a nearby track i can go to but the closest one is 100 miles away :/

Well keep in mind your STS weighs ~4000lbs cranking out 320HP while the G weighs ~3600lbs cranking out 306HP so that 400lbs really, really makes a BIG difference.

You've a lot to learn about the relationship between HP, torque, RPM and weight young padawan.

You could answer a ton of your own questions if you took, oh I dunno, 5 minutes to learn about how all of those metrics are inter-related.
