I initially tried this setup in my G, but decided to get a couple 2GB Compact Flash cards instead (you can pick these up on eBay for around $2-$3 each). This way, I can control my music via G35 interface. Also, I always have my music with me and don't have to bring my mp3 player every time.

No need to disable anything. Any mp3 player will work in the G35 via RCA inputs while moving. All you need is a Y cable that connects to the red and white aux RCA inputs on the G and to standard 3.5mm stereo jack on your MP3 player. The only downside to this setup is that you can't control your mp3 player via G35 controls, and have to change music via your player.

so with the '08s you can't use any mp3 player? i know on the '07s all we have are the RCA cables for Aux input...i run my garmin gps through the video (yellow) and my ipod through the audio (white and red) silmutaneously with no probs...i guess the ipod integration was only helpful for the '08 owners if you own an ipod...i also heard it takes forever to go through your artists on the stock rotary ****

As mentioned above, the 08 aux in works the same as the 07's. You can hook up anything you want. It's only video that's locked out while the car is in motion.
08 iPod integration is actually pretty good. There are several ways to get around the problem of scrolling through artists. I can find any song on my ipod (50+ gigs) within 30 seconds.

that's about how large my library is...can you use the toggle switch near the volume buttons on the steering wheel to go through your artists too?
