Question about 4WAS?

After losing my '04 G sedan in a bad accident I'm looking to replace it with a used 07-08 G sedan. I can figure most options easily, like Tech is easy to spot for instance, but I'm looking at a car that the owner claims has the 4WAS and I'm confused. Do you automatically get a spoiler if your car was 4WAS or is it possible to have 4WAS without a spoiler. I just want to make sure I'm judging the car's value properly + this guy didn't sound like he knew the car that well. His does NOT have a spoiler. Are there any other indicators or things to look for.

Thanks in advance.

i dont know about the 08's but my 07' has 4was and a spoiler. I am not sure if they both are offered together or not....thats a good question.

Maybe Mike or some of the folks at riverside Infiniti can chime in.

I think the only diff between the '07 and '08 is the iPod interface and the backup cam became standard w/ Navi rather than being part of tech. I have my heart set on getting Tech. 4was would be nice (mostly for var steering, not for RAS), but it's really hard to spot. One place I just called said that they were sure it had it because it had AFS On/Off switch, which I know is for the adaptive front lighting.

my 07 6mt sedan has 4was, no spoiler. on the 07 i am about 90% sure that 4was was a separate option.
the only way i know to check is to stick your head under the *** end of the car and look right behind the differential, and you will see the actuator. if it doesn't have 4was, you will see just a simple steel mount there. the actuator has 2 rubber boots on it, one on each side.

i would get it again if i had the option. if you are not an aggressive driver then you might not enjoy it as much as some one like me.

the var steering is also very very nice

also, another way to check is when you start the car and all the lights on the dash flash up for a second, there is a yellow light that says "4was" that turns on with the rest of the lights.

you can't see the light when its off. and it only comes on when there is a problem with the system, like a check engine light

FYI: its worth every penny IMO, the is much more stable and in control, drive both and you'll know what i mean, as my friend got a 08 G35s Sedan without and we drove each others cars and the difference was noted by both of us easily...

I have 4was and no spolier, so no they don't come together as an option. The way the dearship showed me that I had 4was, was when they started turning the steering wheel at a stand still, the rear wheels turn at very small angle and it started shifting the rear of the car slightly.

Thanks for the useful info and tips guys. Reviews I've read say that it didn't help the handling much, but none mention if the the var steering was a plus or not. Either way I would prefer to have it if I can get it, but I guess I can't be too picky if I'm getting a used car. It's been hard enough finding a fully loaded 6mt sedan w/ Tech and for some reason all the ones I've been finding have the Stone interior rather than the Graphite.

This should answer everything, this definitely helps in handling no matter what anyone says, this is coming form personal experience with testing both!

were u building an X? I don't think u can do it on an X, has to be a sport i beleive. I configured on the new G37 sedan and the spoiler was automatically added on and I couln't separate the two. I'd rather no spoiler so I can get the new flat spoiler later on.

Thanks, cool vid, I wasn't doubting whether it helps or not. I thought it was more about feel, but after watching the video it definitely seems to help, esp w/ weight transitions from side to side during quick 'avoidance like' manuvers.

Too many places are advertising their cars as 'fully loaded' and don't even have Tech, let alone 4WAS. I want a FULLY LOADED G if I can get one, but it'll be a rare bird in a stick, like the one I had was. Oh well, beggers can't be choosers.

Anyone know where exactly this 4WAS light is on the dash so I can look for it in pics? Is it in the Tach area? Thanks
