i'm on my 2nd service for an 08 G35x in canada. when i made an appointment for the service, i asked how much is it going to cost me. the service advisor said $160 includes oil change, tire rotation and taking servicing the break calipers...

What really needs to be done and should i change to synthetic yet?

i come from a toyota solara and never had to service the calipers until around 40000KM when they replaced the break pads

 

Find out specifically what they're going to service on your brake calipers. Your second service, if you're talking about the 7,500 mile service, should only require an oil and filter change, tire rotation, top off fluids and a couple of visual inspections. Check out this link for more info:

I did a 7500 miles (12000 Km) service recently, dealer suggested Oil/Filter change, Tire Rotation, Oil joints, and clean battery etc...etc and slapped a USD $150 est.
All I opted for was only Oil Change and Tire Rotation still cost me $80.
