harbor freight?
Yup... They are an awesome place to buy cheap tools. Some of their hand tool quality is crappy, but their jacks and jackstands are great. I've had one of their hydraulic jacks for almost 20 years now and it still works, and now have 3 sets of their jack stands... just make sure to buy some of their jack stand pads to go with the jack stands, to help protect the underside of your car. I also jus bought one of their 2 ton aluminum racing jacks for $159, because my other one is getting old and is SO heavy... It seems like a decent jack so far. Here's a link to their jack stands:

You really only need the 3 ton for the G. Those will support 6000 lbs each. I have 2 sets of the 3 ton that I use when working on the G or Porsche. I use the 6 ton for my truck, mainly because they are taller and my truck is lifted. The 6 ton are almost too tall for the car.
One set is all you'll need for most jobs... You'll only need two sets if your lifting the entire car to drop the tranny, or maybe to make it easier to drop the entire exhaust, or something like that. For th Tanabe axle back system, you'll only need to lift the rear, so one set will work just fine.
