Someone hit my car while it was parked

I went to a club last night and when I got out my rear bumper was smashed. Some drunk hit it and left

I don't have coverage to cover this so I am going to have to fix it myself. Is this fixable or should I just replace the bumper? Should I go to the dealer for the fix? How much am I looking at?

You need a new bumper cover at the minimum. There's probably stuff behind it that's broken/needs replacing too. You really won't know until it gets to a body shop.

def looks like the bumper cover tore, best to just replace the cover, you just got luck the rear quarter panel wasn't damaged.

if your going to have an infiniti, at least have adequate insurance coverage. would it be safe to assume that you didnt file a police report?!

Ya, I know. I am young plus I was overseas for a few months last year so my insurance shot up too much when I got back. No I didn't file police report.

So are you driving with NO insurance or just liability? If you have a loan on your car I've got to imagine you have to carry full coverage. If it's paid off you MUST have liability in most states if not all. File a police report. My car was hit and run - rear ended, backed into by a truck two weeks ago putting trailor hitch received mark in my back bumper. I consider paying for it myself then decided to let insurance take it. It cost me $500 for deductible and they picked up the difference and my rental car (an H2 Hummer of all things - I did not pick it). The repair bill was $1043. There is a foam bumper behind that corner but most likely you'll just need a new bumper cover painted and installed. Look on Ebay and buy a good used one in your color and install it yourself. That will save you $800.

It's time to get a rear bumper body kit. It's pretty much the same price as an OEM plus cool look.

+1.

How is it smart to be driving around in an Infiniti and not have comprehensive insurance?

The only car that I don't have insurance on is a 94 Toyota Camry LE Sedan. That thing is held together by bird**** and wouldn't even fetch $500 considering the condition it is in.

My car got hit the same way, while parked in my driveway on a Saturday in the daytime. So f-in ridiculous how bad some people are at driving. Ended up getting quoted at around $1,300 for repairs. Good luck taking care of that.

Spending $ on a nice car, but not having enough for the insurance is FAIL.

Guys I know it's a bad move not having full coverage on this car. My car is paid off and I don't have the job I had when I bought the car. So I am not as well off as I was before. I didn't want to pay $2000 for 6 months to have full coverage. There doesn't seem to be much damage other than the bumper cover so maybe I can just take that off and put another one on myself. I will also get estimates for repair tomorrow. In the mean time I just have to find a manual on how to take the bumper off and may be find a replacement for it.

No there was no cameras where it was parked so I just have to take care of this myself.
