Finally Got it.

Well I have been lurking on this site for a couple of years now and finally pulled the trigger on a 2009 7AT black/graphite, premium, nav and splash guards! I got a pretty good deal and paid exactly what I set out to pay.Wanted RWD only so I had to go out of state (350 miles) to get what I wanted. It was fine because I got exactly what I wanted!

My user name "G35 Stickman" was created when I thought I wanted a stick but after driving it a few times I decided I could get the best of both worlds with the 7AT and I love it!

I came from a 1999 Nissan Maxima SE which I bought new and have been driving for the last ten years without any problems, so expect the same with the G!

The 350 mile ride home from the dealer was great, the car is everything I thought and more. I averaged almost 26 mpg(unless the MPG in the display is BS) going about 73 on cruise control most of the way so I am excited to see the 7AT do its job when just cruising!

This site has been awesome as I learned so much about the car and what to expect!

Thanks for listening and all I can say is this thing is a "BEAST!"

I came out of a 2000 Maxima SE that I bought new in 99 and I too am hoping to get ~10 years of trouble free "G" driving before my next upgrade

Huh. I came out of a 1996 Maxima GLE. But I haven't gotten close to 26 mpg since most of my driving is around town. But it sure is fun around town.

You're going to love it.

Welcome. A 97 Maxima SE was my first Nissan. I have had a 03 350Z, a 04 G35 sedan, and now the G37 to continue the tradition.

A lot of Nissan fans in here; I had a 92 240SX, a 94 300ZX, and a 01 Maxima SE before I got my 09 G37 Sedan.

Congratulations on your new car, G35 Stickman! I'm also in the market for a new G37. Would you mind telling me what you paid relative to MSRP or Invoice? Was your dealership willing to deal a lot? What was your feeling on the negotiation process? Let me know. Thanks!

I paid 37k out the door, you know taxes, tags etc included...The experience was great, I bought it from a dealership in MD which is about 350 miles away so I was nervous on how things would go the day I picked up. The delivery was flawless no surprises so I was real happy with the experience! I think I got a fairly good deal and the dealer also made some money which is ok with me. I am not out to try to rip off anybody I just want a deal that can work for both sides and that is what I got.

That's an excellent price; what's the tax rate in your state?

Congrats Stickman - where are you in CT - maybe we'll pass on I-95 one day!

Took delivery 2/1/09 & now at 900 miles.

FWIW - the last new car we bought (in 2005 but not Infiniti) said NOT to use cruise control at all during break-in. So, we've decided to wait using CC until 1000K.

Our salesman said "no break-in period on the G37x - just drive it" - however, the manual does have particulars re break-in so be sure to check it out.

Oh, and our salesman is no longer with the dealership! I called him yesterday, (as per his instructions when we hit 800 miles - to schedule replacement of break-in fluids) -only to be told he's gone!

Enjoy!
