Iv never had any water leak into the car through these 6+ years (thank god!!) with my car being parked outside everyday with many heavy prolonged showers over the years with my original factory installed windshield and judging by the majority of the stories of leaks its noticeable that most of them have had their windshield replaced which seems to be the reason, i only recall one person on here that had a small leak while on their original windshield which i guess could be due to the improper install of the cowl piece from factory.

I'm having a similar problem with my 2009 G37. The dealer has tried to blame multiple things. My car is under extended warranty and has leaked 6 times now. They tried to blame the windshield now. However while the windshield was out it was discovered that the drain tube was not properly installed on the grommet going through the firewall. Who else has had this issue? I'm curious because it seems to be serious flaw in the vehicle many have gone through significant cost, time and effort to repair a defect. Please PM me if you have had this issue.

I remember I had a leak that soaked the passenger foot well and after pulling out my hair I realized it was my fault.

A few days before I installed a new battery and in removing all of the plastic cowling around the battery I didn't re-install the rubber correctly on the lower part of the passenger side outer windshield. The Rubber was sort of Pushed in instead of laying on top of the glass. This caused massive amounts of rain water to get in between the windshield and frame. I simply pulled the pushed in rubber back out and made sure it sat flush on the glass, no more leaks.
