Need some assistance with audio (speakers)

Hey guys,

I have the BOSE system in the G, and one of my passenger door speakers (sounds like the upper tweeter) gives a cracking noise everytime a certain bass note hits. Now it only does this on a few tracks of mine, and I can only reproduce it on those tracks, that's why i cant tell if its the tracks or the speaker.

Is there some recommended audio test cd that has different tones so I can reproduce the problem to the dealer? Anyone have any other ideas to test this one tweeter?

Thanks guys!

These rattles are normal in the G from its poor quality materials especially in the interior. Trust me, you ain't the first one to experience this.. I experience the same stuff in my 08 sedan.

For a fix, you can always dynomat it or use other insulation material to lessen the noise.

What type of crackling are you talking about? It doesn't sound like its the sound or speaker but instead the inferior quality materials that someone else mentioned. I hear a bit of rattling because of that but not really crackling. I heard crackling on my old FX when my left speaker blew out - I could only reproduce that on certain high bass songs just like your situation but it was a deeper crackling sound then the rattling that I believe you are referring to and the rattling that I hear in my '08.

A good way to test and make sure its not the speakers is just reproduce the sound on whatever song you hear it from (play that song over and over), blast the music and go into the options and change the sound settings so you can only hear sound coming from certain areas of the car (ie - front, rear, left, right). This may not pinpoint the cause of the rattling/crackling but at least the sound you hear will be more defined and hopefully will lead you to the right solution.

Thanks for the input guys...

It's definitely a speaker crackling, the speaker just above the door handle. Why I ask is that it sounds ok on majority of songs, but on a few tracks' bass notes, it crackles (as if it was blown). I'll try getting the sound more concentrated to that area but all our head units allow is fade/balance. I need to find a test cd of some kind to make sure.
