6MT pricing question

I am in the market for a 09 G37 Sport 6MT and have found supply extremely limited. What expectations should I have about what mark-up dealers are willing to accept on 6MT models? Should you be able to get it for invoice minus dealer hold back and a good portion of the $2000 dealer cash?

If I decided to order a 2010 G37 Sport 6MT what expectation should I have about how the dealer might price it?

In today's economy... i personally wouldnt pay higher than invoice out the door but i do live in SoCal where there are tons of cars and prices seem to be cheaper than most other areas in the US.

Also depends on if you live where there is snow. In snow areas, the x will sell very well but the 6mt will be hard to move. So the dealers won't order them, but will be forced to take one or two a year.

also makes a difference i think if you special order it, or if you can find one on the lot that makes you happy. i feel you would have less bargaining power ordering a car they don't already have on the lot that they're trying to move. is there some particular reason you want to order? have the dealer search the database for the option combination you want, you may be able to find one that can be shipped to you for less $$$ an a much shorter wait time (4 months for me). when i ordered, i wanted IP/graphite 6mt with no options, and no such car existed nationwide, so i ordered. but i was unwilling to budge on any option package. anyway, good luck!

You should be able to get it for close to invoice. Key is to buy it off the lot. There is a reason it's short in supply 1) Most people don't like to/know how to drive a manual trans and/or 2) In the snowbelt people prefer to have FWD or AWD. Therefore, they're not in demand hence Nissan isn't going to produce that many.

No matter what a dealer says, which normally will be "These kinds of cars are hard to get a hold of" isn't really a lie, it's a fact (since not many are produced). HOWEVER, since they're also hard to sell, it's a 2 way street. If they don't want to meet your price, you can move on to another dealer. Sooner or later, one will get desperate enough to sell them for close to or at invoice. Just be flexible with options.

Good luck..

I can tell you that I was looking for a 6MT for quite some time and had no luck what so ever on a second gen. I live in New England and all I ever see is X's, I wanted a fully loaded 6MT. I ended up very close and got a 5AT fully loaded S model. However I do sometimes regret not waiting longer and getting a stick.

6mt's are rare. im lucky to have 2 6mt sedans in stock. if you're flexible on color and option packages then try and make an offer.
